Challenge

As a high-traffic establishment, maintaining optimal indoor temperatures throughout the Golden Nugget Laughlin Hotel & Casino is crucial for guest comfort and satisfaction. The casino required a reliable cooling system that could efficiently regulate indoor temperatures while accommodating the space constraints of its facilities.

Solution

To meet the unique needs of the Golden Nugget, Clark Welding & Fabricating (CWF) proposed a comprehensive cooling solution centered around (2) 15 Ton Samsung DNM Modular Chillers, specifically configured for low-space applications. To expedite installation and ensure seamless integration, CWF prefabricated the chillers on stands in their shop. This process included pressure testing and insulation of the units, guaranteeing a clean and efficient installation process at the Golden Nugget's facilities. Each chiller unit featured two refrigerant circuits and two industrial variable scroll compressors, providing a combined tonnage of 30 tons when operating. The modular design of the chillers allowed for seamless integration into the Golden Nugget's existing infrastructure, optimizing space utilization without compromising cooling performance. Additionally, the chillers' microprocessor controls enabled easy integration with the casino's Building Management System (BMS), facilitating centralized monitoring and control of the cooling system.
